The SOM or Scheme of Maneuver is the Battle Plan for fielded forces. It highlights objectives, timelines, forces, and other considerations using Time, Space, and Purpose or simplified to Task and Purpose.
Other elements may include the Scheme of Reconnaissance, Scheme of Support, or any other supporting battle plans that direct friendly forces.
