Altis Province
Altis is a province in the modern Republic of the Silver Sun consisting of 4 main cities: Kavala, Althira, Pyrgos and Sofia. Kavala serves as the provincial capital and hosts the governor of the island. Three of the Republic's Great Houses maintain County level jurisdiction over the other major cities with Fiefdom level status afforded to the surrounding villages. Each House exercises the full feudal rights afforded to them under the Provincial Feudalism Act as adopted by the Republic's Senate and signed into law by the Doge under the Crowned Republic era and maintained by the Prime Minister in the Free Republic era.
General citizens of the island are granted full citizenship in the Republic with each of the Great Houses maintaining their own patrons and household staff. Kavala law enforcement is provided by Republic State Prefects with the Houses providing security forces in the other cities and counties.
