A Liege Lord is someone who takes on a vassal in an Oath of Fealty. Liege Lords are granted their authority by the Sovereign, who is the Doge or Duke in the case of the Republic. Liege Lords are typically land granted Nobile or Eques who have something to give in return for vassalage.
